Senior/Staff Accountant

Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of accounting information by researching account issues, preparing journal entries, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.

  • Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and variances; provide explanations as needed.

  • Maintain and update general ledger accounts.

  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and analysis.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

  • Mentor and support junior accounting staff.

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • CPA or working toward CPA certification preferred.

  • 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.

  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).

  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
